Air Ambulance Duty on Fuel
We all in Motorsport hope we never need the use an Air Ambulance, but it is a service that we all know is there when we need it, it is only there because of the hard work of everyone who raise the £1.4 million a year to keep the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance flying. All Air Ambulances receive no direct Government or National Lottery funding, every penny they use is from donations. Burnham-on-Sea Motor Club support every year, this wonderful service by giving the profits from our Tour to them, but we are talking a very, very small amount (a few hundred pounds), nothing compared to the amount needed each year to keep it in the air. The UK Government do not allow the Air Ambulance Services to be exempt from duty on the fuel they use, they do for (RNLI) Lifeboats. Please spend a few minutes and complete the (Government) e-petition, if they gain 100,000 signatures, Parliament is duty bound to debate the issue, but don’t stop when they reach 100,000, help ensure our UK Government feel under pressure to put this right and allow them to be exempt from duty on the fuel they use, which is key to them providing this service, which is free to you when you need it. Three Clubs Hillclimb at Charmouth
We are pleased to announce that BOS MC will be one of the promoting clubs of Three Clubs Hillclimb at Charmouth. The event will be promoted also by Taunton Motoring Club and Torbay Motor Club and will be held on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd June 2012. Regulations will soon be published.

Somerset Stages Rally Marshals Request
Saturday 21st April 2012 will see the running of the 34th Somerset Stages Rally.
As always with these kinds of events, we cannot run them without the help and commitment of the many marshals who come and support us on the day.
Bearing this in mind we are looking for marshals, novice and experienced, time keeping crews, start and finish crews, passage controls and radios to help us run safely on the day.

Rally Marshals Training Day
A Rally Marshals Training is planned by BRMC on Sunday 1st April 2012, at Castle Combe, Chippenham, Wiltshire, SN14 7EY.
This is a centrally MSA/British Motor Sport Training Trust funded day, the target audience is All Rally Marshals irrespective of whichever club they are a member of, so therefore is open to BOS MC members and other clubs.
The day is ‘free of charge’, the only cost for you is your travel costs and lunch (it is not clear if you can purchase lunch at Castle Combe, so please check before attending), all other aspects of the day are free including tea, coffee and biscuits.
The aim is to offer the usual 5 x 1 day approved MSA Training modules :-
- New Rally Marshals
- Instage Marshals, aimed at Sector Marshals and existing experienced MSA registered marshals
- Radio Marshals
- Timing Marshals
- Senior Stage Marshals, aimed at Stage Commanders, their deputies, Stage Safety Officers, or those aspiring to these roles
All sessions will be led by either an MSA licensed Instructor, licensed Lead Trainer, or licensed International Trainer.
Signing-on will be around 08:15-08:45, with a brief communal introduction, then splitting attendees into the 5 groups, aiming to finish with a communal roundup session at 15:30 and everyone away home by 16:00.

Annual Dinner & Presentation of Awards
Burnham-on-Sea Motor Clubs Annual Dinner & Presentation of Awards is to be held at the Batch Country House Hotel, Lympsham on Saturday 25th February 2012, 7:30pm for 8:00pm. The Batch House Hotel at Lympsham, Near Weston Super Mare who provides us with an exceptional meal and venue. Although a speaker is yet to be confirmed we are in talks with a well known name in the Motorsport world who, providing his diary allows, will make this an event not to be missed! If you have never been to this event before please, please don’t let this put you off. We are a friendly bunch and it would be great to see a few more of you there, particularly if you have won an award in one of the club championships. For a application form, please check here.
